The first Sunday of the month all museums are free so Chris and I went to the Musée du Moyen Âge last weekend. One of my favorite pieces, Throne of Grace, was from a special exhibit Gold and Fire where they featured Slovakian works. It reminded me of something that Pope Benedict said in his recent book Light of the World about the crucifix being the supreme symbol of God's absolute love for us.
Here are some other highlights from our visit:
St. Denis was the Bishop of Paris in the 3rd century. He was martyred. His head was chopped of and it is said that he walked several miles holding it, preaching the whole way!
