As I am doing a chronological study of some Christian texts starting with the apostolic fathers and ending with Thomas Merton I will also be studying chronologically, along-side it, art, architecture and classical composers. These last three elements all fall under the art category of my studies. I will begin, in the fall, with the ancient as we hope to visit the Lascaux caves which are thought to have been painted
thousands of years before Christ (website:Official Luscaux Website).
In the winter months, I will move on to the medieval period. I'm especially looking forward to looking at
The Lady and the Unicorn tapestries.
Then in the spring and summer months I will move onto more contemporary art which means we'll be visiting Monet's garden in Giverny (right outside of Paris),
the Picasso museum in Paris and Marc Chagall's windows in Reims (north of Paris).
About twelve years ago my sister Maren and I were in Paris with our family but unable to see the Paris Opera House because of renovations they were doing. We made a promise to visit it again one day when we were married so that we could see the ceiling that Chagall painted. Hopefully we will do that in June:
